So here's my first shot at being crafty this Autumn season. I wanted a wreath to hang on my door so I bought the stuff at this great craft store that I discovered called Craft Warehouse. It is very simple but I like it and what I like more is that it took 10 minutes and only cost $10 to make. All you have to do is buy a grapevine wreath and some garland of your choice and tie it on with some craft wire. Simple, yet affordable!
It has been raining for the past couple of days and we needed to get out of the house. So I loaded up the boys and we went to the mall. I went with the intention of not buying anything but found some great deals that I couldn't pass up. I got some books for the boys for Christmas. Borders has great clearance sales! I also got a couple of birthday presents. We went to a pet store that gives me dry heaves every time I go in there but my boys love it. I feel so bad for those animals. They have to live in those stinky, small glass cubicles. I'm surprised that animal rights activists don't make a bigger deal about the conditions in those places!
For dinner I am thinking of making Fettucine Alfredo. Andrew hates it but he is out of town so we are going to take advantage. My friend sent me a new recipe for alfredo sauce that sounds really yummy and she swears it is better than the Olive Garden.
1/2 c. sweet butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1/4 tsp. white pepper
pinch of nutmeg
1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese
3/4 c. mozzarella cheese
Melt butter in saucepan over med/low heat. Add garlic, cream, white pepper, and nutmeg. Bring mixture to a simmer. Stir often. Add parmesan cheese and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until sauce is thickened, add mozzarella and stir until smooth. Stir frequently.
