Deck the Halls
We decided to start a new tradition last night. It's an idea that I got from a former co-worker. You make a cake and write "Deck the Halls" on it and decorate it all Christmas-like. Then you take out the Christmas music and all of your decor and go to town decorating and eating cake - a celebration of the beginning of the holiday season. So I cooked a nice dinner and baked the cake. Everything was going well and then when I went to drain the grease off of our meatloaf, three fourths of it fell out of the pan and onto my hand and into the sink. Our dinner was ruined and my hand was scalded and the only decorating the cake got was a few red and green sprinkles! I had to have a bag of ice on my hand the rest of the night and even had to sleep with it. Thank goodness for a wonderful husband who did the dishes, gave the boys a bath, got out all of our decorations and helped me put them up. The night didn't go as I had planned but we got most of the decor up and ate some yummy cake! Hopefully we'll have better luck next year!

Ouch! I can't believe that. Burns hurt soooo bad. I hope you are going to be okay. The cake thing sounded like a fun idea! Thanks for sharing.
I hope your hand heals quickly! Burns are painful. Great tradition, by the way! What a fun idea.
