Introducing . . .

Jonah Kay Wolford
Born: July 29, 2008
8:16 a.m.
8 lbs. 5 oz.
21 inches long

As you know, I was supposed to be induced on July 31st, but this little guy decided to come on his own. I went to the Dr. on Monday evening and I was dialated to a 3 and 60% effaced. The Dr. was really surprised at all of the progress I had made since my last appointment! When I left the Dr.'s office, I went and got Andrew at his work and we went on one last date before the baby was to come. We went and saw Batman at the IMAX and during the movie I was having some pretty good contractions. When we got home I called my neighbor to see if she could come over in the night if we needed her to, and I packed a hospital bag. I think I must have known that something was going to happen. Sure enough, at 1:00 a.m. I rolled over onto my side and my water broke! I woke Andrew up and he almost jumped out of the bed when I told him that my water had broken. We called our neighbor and we were out the door in 10 minutes! We got to the hospital at about 1:45. I got changed into a gown and they checked me. I was a little more effaced but not much more dialated than at my appointment. At that point, we started walking the halls to get the contractions going stronger. After about and hour, they started getting pretty strong and I was ready for my epidural, but, to my dismay, the anesthesiologist was doing an emergency C-Section. At that point, I got a little panicked because the same thing happened with Drew and I didn't ever get my epidural! Finally, at 4:30, the anesthesiologist came in and I got my epidural. It was awesome! I had forgotten how amazing those things are! Once I got the epidural, they put me on pitossin and let me rest for a couple of hours. They checked me again at 7:00 and I was dialated to a six. The nurse called my doctor and he said to call back when I was at an 8. She checked me again twenty minutes later and I was complete! It went really fast. As soon as the doctor got there I started pushing and the little guy was born at 8:16. It was an amazing delivery and we have a beautiful little boy. I came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Noah and Drew have been really good with Jonah. They are amazed at how tiny he is and they are really gentle with him. I feel so blessed to have 3 beautiful little boys. It is crazy to think that Andrew and I are outnumbered now. It is a little intimidating and I think it will take some time to adjust. My mom and oldest sister are here and they are amazing. My house is spotless, my fridge and cupboards are full and Noah and Drew are happy. Thank you so much mom and Marn. I love you both. I will post some more pictures soon.
