Happy Birthday to My Hubby

Yesterday was Andrew's birthday. I meant to post last night, but I was too tired! His birthday dinner wish was pork roast with sauerkraut. It was a real sacrifice for me because I hate sauerkraut and the way it makes my house smell! I did make some homemade rolls to compensate and when I went to bake them, the oven sparked and stopped working. I was so depressed! For his birthday cake, he wanted a dutch oven carrot cake. Luckily, I made it before the oven died but when we went to tip it out of the dutch oven, half of it stayed. Needless to say, the cake looked really special! The cake wasn't pretty but it tasted good and Andrew enjoyed his sauerkraut, I guess that is what matters! Here are some reasons I am grateful to have Andrew in my life:

  1. He is a wonderful husband and father. He is truly concerned with our spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being all of the time.

  2. He is a worthy priesthood holder and has a gift for understanding the doctrines of the gospel. He is a wonderful teacher.

  3. He is one of the zaniest people I know. He can be so random and I love it!

  4. He is really good at leading people to believe that he knows something about everything. If you know Andrew, you know what I am talking about!

  5. He is obsessed with Cabelas, Magnum P.I., John Wayne, guns and the History Channel- in other words, he is a manly man.

  6. He is a hard worker and does well at his job. It is so nice to not have to worry about job security.

We love you babe! Thanks for everything you do for our family.

Wow Amber, I can't believe how close you are to having your baby. Good luck & I hope that everything goes well. I love the colors of the nusery. Great taste! I was talking to a girl in my new ward & she mentioned where she was from. I told her that I had a friend who grew up by Gunnison before she moved to Price. Long story short, Adrienne Urvina (I can't remember her maiden name) said that she was good friends with you growing up. She was all excited that I still keep in touch with you & she wanted me to give you the link to her blog. It is: http://urvinafamily.blogspot.com/
She may try getting in touch with you. Small world. Anyways, take care of yourself.

Hey, Amber. I happened to stumble across a comment on Adrienne's blog and decided there couldn't be THAT many Amber Simkins running around. :o) So, I checked out your blog. I don't even know if you remember me or not, but I thought I'd say hi. Congrats on the new baby. The nursery looks awesome!
